work on action and linking verbs this week. (Pages
447-454) Hopefully, much if this will be review
from previous years, and we will “breeze” right
through. (If this sounds familiar, it is! We did not
get to it the week before Christmas break.) We will
also create “Peace Similes” to focus on
more peaceful ways for a troubled world. …at
least in our own little corner of that world.
Vocabulary
We will review Units 4-5-6. Test on Wednesday, January
14.
Literature
The 7th
graders did a great job presenting scenes from “A Christmas Carol” before the break.
There’s a “lot of ham” in this group,
and it DOES come in handy! Great job! This week, we
will finish the Christmas season reading “The
Gift of the Magi,” a short story with a surprise
ending by American author, O. Henry.
