The Scrip Program

What is the Scrip Program? SCRIP is a year-round fundraising program whose income is used to help offset rising tuition.

How does SCRIP work? There are several ways to contribute to the SCRIP Program.  The SCRIP Office sells negotiable gift certificates and debit cards from a wide variety of merchants (e.g. Macy’s, Scalise Meats, Encinal Market, LaVal’s Pizza, et al) which you purchase AT FACE VALUE. For each SCRIP certificate or debit card purchased, St. Joseph receives proceeds from the merchant, ranging from 2% (e.g. Shell Oil) to 20% (e.g. La Val’s Pizza). You may view/print the latest SCRIP Order Form by clicking here.

Whenever you use your Albertsons Preferred Savings Card, you can make a contribution to our school!  To make that happen, be sure that your Preferred Savings Card designates St. Joseph Elementary School as your Community Partner donee.  Visit the Albertsons' Community Partners page to enroll.

allows you to contribute to the Scrip program without purchasing the gift certificates. A number of merchants, including Safeway, participate in the E-Scrip program. In order to utilize E-Scrip, you must register with the E-Scrip Company by phone or online. For further explanation, or to enroll in the program, visit the E-Scrip website at: www.escrip.com

is an on-line program that provides proceeds to the school based on online purchases by those of you who register. There are no out-of-pocket costs to the consumer. Hundreds of popular online shopping sites -- sites at which you may already shop! -- participate in the SchoolPop program. Visit their website to learn more: www.schoolpop.com

Are there extra costs or limitations? There are NO out-of-pocket costs to the families participating in the SCRIP program (other than face value of your purchases). There are NO limitations to the amount of SCRIP you can purchase from St. Joseph. Further, there is NO limitation as to the type of goods or merchandise that you can purchase with SCRIP.

How can I order SCRIP? You may order: (1) at the Scrip Office; or (2) through the SCRIP Order Form/Envelope via your child. Payment for SCRIP must be received at the time you place your order.  SCRIP cannot be disbursed without prior payment.

When will I receive the SCRIP? Every attempt is made to keep in stock SCRIP for our most popular vendors (Side 1 of the SCRIP order form), and you will usually receive that SCRIP the same day you place your order. "Special Order" SCRIP (Side 2 of the order form) is SCRIP we do not usually on hand.  Once you place your order, we will order it from our supplier and will send it to you as soon as we receive it.
