Extended
Care Notes:
THE ST. JOSEPH EXTENSION PROGRAM is provided to St. Joseph
students before and after school. We are pleased to present
a well-organized yet flexible learning environment. Parents
will
have the
security
of knowing that their children are in a safe and
supervised
program.
Extended Care is available on either a drop-in or regular
basis.
Morning Extended Care opens at 7:00 am each morning and the students are released
to the yard at 7:40 am. Any student who arrives at school prior to 7:35 will
be placed in Extended Care and billed accordingly. Morning fees will be included
in the regular monthly billing.
Please note that afternoon Enrichment Programs (such as Science Adventures)
are an extension of our program and therefore fall under the supervisory
job of the Extended Care Director. Enrichment Programs will therefore require
additional fees for those participating students. Students will not be
charged for Extended Care during the Enrichment Program. Students who are
not picked up will be placed in Extended Care and billed accordingly.
Any child who is not picked up from school by 2:50 p.m.
(or 12:10 p.m. on minimum days)
will
be placed in the Extension Program and automatically
billed for a minimum of one hour. It will be necessary
to sign the student
out of extended care after being signed in by the Extension
Program staff.
All school rules are enforced during Extended Care,
with the exception of the uniform. Children may change
into
appropriate “free
dress” after checking into Extended Care.

Extended Care closes at 6 pm, unless
otherwise specified (see calendar). PLEASE
be sure that you have a back-up plan for picking up your
child from Extended Care! If you will be
unable to pick up your child by closing time, it is your
responsibility
to call a friend, neighbor, or family member
to come
to
the school
to get your child before closing. We do understand
that emergencies arise, traffic may be bad, etc. Having
a back-up plan in place will make things easier for everyone
involved!
